Safe and Efficient Solutions for Mobile Power Needs
Generac Mobile Products, a leading designer and manufacturer of mobile light towers, generators, pumps and heaters, is featuring two generator models from the Generac® Magnum® line of mobile power products in their booth at The ARA Rental Show from Feb. 26 to Mar. 1, 2017: the MLG15 and MMG45IF4. Designed to meet the diverse needs of today’s rental industry and worksite professionals, these CSA-approved generators offer innovative features that maximize fuel efficiency, streamline workflows and promote operational safety.
Approved for single-phase power needs by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Tier 4 standards, the MLG15 diesel generator is powered by a four-cylinder engine that is naturally aspirated. Fueled by a 56-gal. fuel tank and featuring external convenience outlets, the MLG15 allows users to operate loads requiring up to 50 amps of power for as long as 43 continuous hours. With a rugged design and weather-resistant features, the MLG15 can be used to support a variety of small to midsize projects in any setting.
Similarly, the MMG45IF4 mobile generator is designed to meet the higher output demands of larger events or jobsites. With an integrated selector switch that allows operators to easily toggle between single- and three-phase output settings, the MMG45IF4 can be used for a variety of unique power applications.
Driven by a turbocharged, four-cylinder, Tier 4 diesel engine, the MMG45IF4 has a 100-gal., double-wall fuel tank that facilitates extended run times up to 27 consecutive hours. Quiet operation is possible thanks to an aluminum, sound-attenuated enclosure, which suppresses the generator’s sound output rating to 65 dB(A) from a distance of 23 feet when it’s operating as a prime power source. The innovative Power Zone® controller also allows users to track product activity. From observing the unit’s operation status to monitoring active alarms and making voltage adjustments, the Power Zone controller’s operation temperature range of -40°F to 185°F helps ensure operators are able to use push buttons to navigate the controller’s backlit color display in both extreme cold and high-temperature climates.
“Generac customers expect quality and affordable products that require as little maintenance as possible and offer safe solutions for their power output needs,” said Michael Goche, senior product manager, Generac Mobile Products. “As one of the leading generator manufacturers in the world, we have over 250 engineers and cutting-edge test labs at our disposal, allowing us to constantly invest in research and product development to meet the expectations of our customers while ensuring our generators are rental-ready for adverse weather conditions and a variety of mobile power needs. As the industry’s application demands steadily evolve, we continue to introduce new and innovative technologies to our generators that limit fuel consumption rates, enhance overall performance and minimize product upkeep requirements. These particular generators offer flexible options that present cost savings and enhanced profitability while safeguarding a variety of specialized applications.”
Both models feature an external emergency stop switch, providing an added level of operational safety for worksite applications and unexpected hazards. Detachable trailers offering U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved directional lighting also allow owners to securely transport each generator from one location to the next.
Depending upon the specific model, the MLG15 and MMG45IF4 come equipped with either an Isuzu or Mitsubishi engine. Cold zone packages, which include an engine heater, 60/40 coolant, heated fuel filter and other accessories that temper the effects of extreme cold, are also tailored for each generator model to help ensure optimal operation in below-freezing temperatures.
